Tasmanian Cherries

Tasmanian Cherries

December - February

Tasmania is an island off of Australia's south coast with vast rugged wilderness, protected parks and reserves, and very strict quarantine controls. The island has a temperate maritime climate producing favourable conditions for growing cherry trees. This ensures that the cherry fruit has a long gentle growing period which allows the fruit to develop slowly and become full flavoured. Furthermore because of the reduced pest and disease pressure, low level use of chemicals are required to maintain cherry orchards, and thus higher quality fruit are produced.
